Holiday Worship Services

Throughout the church year, we mark various holidays and observances with special services. From Ash Wednesday through Christmas Eve. All are welcome.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent; our service is held at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Ashes are offered to those who would like them.

Holy Week

Palm Sunday — the Sunday before Easter, 10:00 a.m.

Maundy Thursday — the Thursday before Easter, 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday — noon to 2:30 p.m. A contemplation of the Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross, interpreted by lay preachers and clergy.

Easter

6:00 a.m. sunrise service, hosted by our sister ministry Sanctuary & Seed at 1600 Washington Valley Road in Bridgewater. The gathering is held around a fire pit on the lawn, with hymns sung and the Resurrection proclaimed in intimate expressions of joy.

9:00 and 11:00 am, Traditional Easter Service with Brass

Advent

Lessons & Carols service with Brass, Handbells and Choir, the Sunday before Christmas Eve usually the 3rd or 4th Sunday of Advent

Christmas Eve

4:30 p.m. family service featuring a nativity pageant in which all the congregation's children are encouraged to participate.

8:00 and 11:00 p.m Candlelight service, preceded by a half-hour of music
