2021 Stewardship Pledge Campaign
What a year 2020 has been. Who could have imagined in January how things have unfolded? There has been much to grieve and many challenging changes to our day-to-day living thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also been painfully confronted with the deep roots of racism that continues to strangle the soul of our country. There have been multiple major storms that have devastated parts of our country and fires to fight throughout the west. Even here in Bound Brook the year began with a major fire on our own Main Street. And still our faith speaks… HOPE GROWS HERE.
We have learned this year that we don’t have to be in church to be the church. We adapted quickly to the new reality of COVID with streamed live worship services. We rose up as a church to meet the needs of the local community suffering from the economic impact of the pandemic; delivering food to families with school-aged children and providing Shop Rite Gifts cards to families and individuals in need, in partnership with local schools, churches, Casa de Esperanza, and the Somerset County Food Bank Pantry (operating out of our church campus.) We have committed ourselves to the reading and discussion of several prominent books on racism in an attempt to better understand its deep roots and our own role moving toward healing and justice. In addition, we have looked out for one another. There have been many, many stories of church members reaching out and caring for one another through these trying times. We could do these things because, through our faith in Jesus Christ, HOPE GROWS HERE.
As we look forward to the end of 2020 and the beginning of a new year, we look to you to help us continue to be the church whatever lies ahead. Your financial pledge makes our mission and ministry possible. It makes it possible to keep the lights on and to stream the worship service. It pays our wonderful staff and supports programs for children, youth, and adults. It cares for the needs of our buildings and supports our missional work locally, nationally, and beyond. In short it fuels our HOPE.
Please consider a making pledge for 2021 now, so that we can continue to be the faithful church of Jesus Christ.
