Stewardship Commission
Adopted February, 2001
Mission Statement
The Stewardship Commission of the church
is made up of 2 elders currently serving on session and 3
or more members of the congregation. The purpose of the commission
is to assist the session in fulfillment of it’s mission
to teach others, welcome all, care for those around us, and
provide for the worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. Specifically,
the commission is to lead in the education of stewardship
to the congregation, foster the development of individuals’
journeys of faith through participation in bringing witness
of God’s call to the congregation, to plan for the culling
of God’s resources offered freely for development of
the annual budget, and to be lead by God’s purpose as
Creator and owner of all things.
- Education: Offer workshops lead by our
staff once or twice a year. Advertise opportunities for
stewardship education from presbytery or Princeton Seminary
as they are made available.
- Witness: Offer our individual stories
of faith and call as directed by the pastor. Encourage members
and friends to participate in bearing their witness to God’s
work in their lives.
- Planning and Participation in the planning
and implementation of the pledge drive held each fall.
- Implementation:
- Stewards: Accept stewardship as a part
of the journey of faith.
Recognize that God, as Creator of all things, is ready to
provide resources to fulfill God’s purpose to reach
out to all creation.
Grow and Change as God leads you.
