Session
of Elders
Every Presbyterian church has a specific
plan for making decisions.
Decision-makers within the Presbyterian
Church at Bound Brook include the church staff, the Session
of Elders, the Board of Deacons, and a variety of commissions.
The Session of Elders includes our pastor and the 20 elders
currently in active service.
Elders are selected by the Church Nominating
Committee and elected by the congregation. Elders serve as
the representatives for all the people of the church and meet
monthly. They take leadership roles on various commissions
or committees and oversee all aspects of the life of the church—from
its finances and its facilities to its mission outreach and
worship. All members of the Session are entitled to vote on
issues presented to them. (For a short report on the decisions
made at the monthly meeting of Session, see each issue of
The Presbyterian.)
